I have strong feelings on the subject. I pretty much give the same lecture to anyone who challenges me on the subject. I think my son is a bit scared of me/this when he starts driving soon (which is good).
It's not a subject I take lightly, and even if the OP was over-exaggerating what he does, I felt the need to respond. It is dangerous. Full stop. Do millions do it every day without crashing? Yep. Of those millions, do a statistically significant portion do damage to themselves or someone else because of it? Yep. Do those percentages add up over time and miles? Unfortunately, yes.
